Salaries, wages, and incentive earnings including vacations, granted holidays, authorized paid absence from work, and training time, of administrative and general employees including the business manager, customer relations manager, office manager, accountants, bookkeepers, secretaries, stenographers, cashiers (other than parts or service cashiers), clerks, telephone operators, janitors, porters (except vehicle), and night watchmen.

COMMENTS

  • Salaries of managers or others who are officers, owners, or partners in the dealership should be charged to Account 8900, Dealer Salary.
  • The salary of a general manager who is not an officer or owner should be charged to Account 8000, Salary—General Manager.
  • Bonuses, other than those of officers and owners, based on total dealership profit, should be charged to Account 9550, Employee Bonuses.
  • For departmentalization purposes, balances in this account may be distributed to the operating departments using account numbers created by changing the last digit of this account number. Refer to Departmentalization for further information.
